Kanaka Durga Temple

Kanaka Durga Temple is in Vijayawada city in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is situated on top of Indrakiladri Hills and enshrines Goddess Kanaka Durga which is at the entrance of the city.

While going to the shrine, ancient inscriptions are found that reveal the stories from the ancient times.

According to a tradition, Arjuna, the mighty warrior of the Mahabharatha, received his divine weapon, the Pasupatha, at this site and after getting the weapon, he constructed the temple to honor Goddess Durga.

People take a holy dip in river Krishna nearby about 2 km from RTC Bus stand.
