Lago di Garda

Lago di Garda is the largest of the Italian lakes. It stretches, amidst beautiful Alpine scenery, between Lombardy and Venetia. It is 35 miles long, and from 2 to 10 broad. Its water is remarkably clear, and has a depth of 967 ft. It is studded with many picturesque islands, and is traversed by steamers.
