Pramod Ranjan Bose

Pramod Ranjan Bose was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born at Chakdah, Faridpur, now in Bangladesh. He was son of Jamini Kanta Basu. He belonged to Yugantar Party. In 1932, he was arrested in connection with Watson shooting case, in which he was convicted for 10 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI). He was then deported to Andamans jail to serve the prison term. There, he participated in the second hunger strike in Cellular Jail in July 1937 for a duration of 37 days. He was repatriated in 1937, and ultimately released in 1938. His total jail period was about 7 years.
