Sir Frederick Banting

Sir Frederick Banting (1891-1941), full name Sir Frederick Grant Banting, was a Canadian physiologist and surgeon. He was awarded Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine in 1923, which was shared with J J R Macleod. He is known for discovering insulin in 1921-22 with the assistance of Charles H Best, which he used to treat diabetes.
