Umesh Chandra Bhattacharya was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. Born 12.04.1916, Ramsitapara, Nabadwip, Nadia, west Bengal, s/o Late Kedarnath Bhattacharya. Arrested in connection with Nabadwip Arms seizure Case in March 1033. Sentenced to 6 years prison term and deported to Andamans. Participated in second hunger strike. Repatriated in 1937. Released September 1939. Total jail period 6 years.
