LEFT VOTERS IN BENGAL HAVE TO TAKE DECISIVE STEP TO DEFEAT BJP

IT WILL BE WRONG TO PUT SAFFRONS AND TRINAMOOL ON SAME FOOTING
Satyaki Chakraborty - 2021-04-06 13:13
Following three phases of polling in Bengal for the state assembly, I got a number of messages from my friends in Kolkata and others of Bengal expressing their dilemma as a supporter of the Left in choosing candidates in the ensuing poll. The problem is the concerned candidate of the Left including the CPI(M) is so hopelessly positioned, that the voting for him means wasting the vote. My friends are very much against the BJP, but at the same time, they are angry with Trinamool Congress for many of its activities including corruption of the TMC members and their highhandedness in dealing with the other opposition parties, especially the Left and the Congress.

JUDGE RAWAL’S REASONING MAY SET A DANGEROUS PRECEDENT
Parsa Venkateshwar Rao Jr - 2021-04-05 13:22
Special CBI court judge VR Rawal, while acquitting three Gujarat police officers—Inspector General of Police GL Singhal, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Tarun Bharot, and assistant Sub-Inspector Anaju Chaudhari—has offered a line of reasoning that seems to make partial, but not total, legal sense, and therefore raises troubling legal questions.

ECONOMIC SELF RELIANCE HAS BEEN JETTISONED TO PLEASE THE CORPORATES

PRIVATISATION OF PUBLIC SECTOR UNITS IS A DANGEROUS GAMBLE BY MODI REGIME
Chada Venkata Reddy - 2021-04-05 13:18
Our country is sovereign democratic republic. People alone are rulers. People elect governments. Based on the norms of Constitution, government should be restrained by the basic constitutional principles and thus implement laws. But it has become common for ruling government to take unilateral decisions. With individual trends, adopting dictatorial methods, crushing aspirations of people and above all acting against self reliance of the nation, Central government is attacking the fundamental rights of people and violating the Constitution.

MORE EVIDENCE OF UDF-BJP DEAL IN KERALA POLL TUMBLING OUT

TOP SAFFRON LEADERS THEMSELVES SPILL THE BEANS!
P. Sreekumaran - 2021-04-05 13:14
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Clear evidence of the tacit deal between the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and the BJP in Kerala has surfaced to the acute embarrassment of both the parties. What is even more surprising is that a few top BJP leaders themselves have spilled the beans.

EC RESPONSE TO MAMATA’S COMPLAINT ON NANDIGRAM BOOTH IS TOO HARSH

BIG DIFFERENCE WITH SOFT STANCE TAKEN TO ASSAM BJP MINISTER
Arun Srivastava - 2021-04-05 13:11
The Election Commission accusing the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee of misdemeanour and contemplating to take severe action against her, has been unprecedented in the electoral history of the country and smacks of a well-defined script written by the top government functionaries.

BOTH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND PEOPLE HAVE TO JOINTLY COMBAT THE VIRUS
Dr Arun Mitra - 2021-04-05 13:07
With a linear fall of Corona infection cases earlier, not only in our country but around the globe, a complacency had developed about the preventive measures. Life cannot come to a standstill but when the situation is not conducive some changes in the lifestyle need to be made. As there is a surge in the cases of COVID, the whole discussion about prevention of the disease has started again. With new variant strains coming in we find some people getting infected for the second time.

WHY THE OPPOSITION IS FOREVER PLAYING CATCH UP WITH THE BJP

SECULAR FORCES MUST OFFER A STRONG ALTERNATIVE TO CHALLENGE MODI
Amulya Ganguli - 2021-04-05 13:03
Rahul Gandhi is only partially right when he says that the BJP’s control of the autonomous institutions is hampering the opposition parties at the national level to make any headway. Although there is a grain of truth in the Congress leader’s charge, there are more basic reasons why the opposition is unable to pose a serious challenge to the ruling party at the centre.
