BIDEN WANTS CORPORATIONS AND THE RICH TO PAY FOR REBUILDING AMERICA

LABOUR UNIONS AND LEFT DEMOCRATS UPBEAT AT SHIFT IN EMPHASIS
Karl Engels - 2021-04-01 12:07
Early last summer, when it was already obvious that the pandemic was making a wreck of the economy, Joe Biden appeared to have a light bulb moment. He seemed to realize that everything had changed, and that, to keep up with history, he better change as well. “The blinders have been taken off,” Biden said in May. “Because of this COVID crisis, I think people are realizing, ‘My Lord. Look at what is possible. Look at the institutional changes we can make.”

HOW LONG THIS JOBLESS ECONOMIC PLANNING WILL CONTINUE IN INDIA?

UNEMPLOYMENT HAS REACHED THE MENACING LEVEL OF CAUSING UNREST
Krishna Jha - 2021-04-01 12:00
On March 28, it was the birthday of Maxim Gorky who had said, “Till a single baby in the world cries of hunger, I can not rest…” In one sentence, he defined a writer, who lives for the cause of humanity and writes without fear. But it is not the writer alone who shares the life and fights against the injustices, it is all those too who sacrifice their lives for the human cause, toiling all along with the suffering masses. We remember them today once again as May Day is approaching when the struggle for eight-hour working day reached its culmination and we won the right in 1889.After a century and almost a quarter, that right has been taken back. We have labour code today demolishing all the rights for the toiling masses that were achieved after long struggles and sacrifices. Now jobs are scarce, working hours are limitless, salaries are reduced, and all that if one has a job.

AFTER FREEDOM HOUSE, V-DEM, THE TURN OF THE US STATE DEPARTMENT

MODI GOVERNMENT’S ABUSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS IS UNDER BIG SCRUTINY
Sushil Kutty - 2021-04-01 10:57
The other day the National Human Rights Commission issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh DGP for police filing false cases against 10 people who asked a band of cops to settle their restaurant Bill! The NHRC wouldn't have guessed that the United States State Department was about to give India a blackeye for human rights abuses. Yes, China and Myanmar, because of Uyghurs and indiscriminate killings after military coup respectively, are getting the big stick from Uncle Sam. But that doesn't mean India didn't get caned for human rights abuses and for generally being a pain in the @** of its citizens.

AMIT SHAH IS DREAM MERCHANT FOR SONAR BANGLA WITHOUT KNOWING ITS ORIGIN

BJP IS OUT TO MAKE GAINS IN STATE POLLS BY DIVIDING VOTERS ON CASTE LINES
Arun Srivastava - 2021-04-01 10:53
It appears that the BJP’s Chanakya, Amit Shah, has lost his skill and has nothing new to offer except some old decadent and outdated rhetoric.

MAMATA'S OPPOSITION UNITY CALL HAS BIG RELEVANCE FOR 2024 LOK SABHA POLLS

MUCH WILL DEPEND ON OUTCOME OF ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS ON MAY 2
Nitya Chakraborty - 2021-04-01 10:48
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's letter to 14 opposition leaders to unite against the BJP's attacks against the Constitutional norms and the powers of the non-BJP state governments- just three days before her historic battle in Nandigram assembly constituency against her former protege BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari, has big relevance for the shaping of the national politics in the coming period leading to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

CRITICAL TIMES AHEAD

Vijay Sanghvi - 2021-03-31 15:26
The next three years are going to be crucial not only in the Indian life but also to its 72 year old system of governance. I have no substantive facts, events or observations by those who matter for such an alarming observation or even conjecture. It is my instinctive response to behaviour of and negative responses by persons who matter.

REMEMBERING DR. NORMAN BETHUNE - THE FATHER OF PUBLIC HEALTH CARE

LIFE OF THIS CANADIAN COMMUNIST HAS MANY LESSONS FOR THIS TIME OF PANDEMIC
Dave McKee - 2021-03-31 15:21
Canadian media and politicians claim that the country’s public health care system is “what separates us from the Americans.” Social democrats have baptized Cooperative Commonwealth Federation (CCF)/New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Tommy Douglas as the “Father of Medicare,” the official name for Canada’s health system. Election after election, opinion polls position health care as one of the key public concerns. Yet, for all this attention, the history of the struggle for socialized medicine in Canada remains poorly understood.
