China has re-emerged as the biggest trading partner of India in 2020-21 outplaying USA, after a break of two years. Prior to these, China was also the leading trade partner for five years from 2013-14 to 2017-18. Notwithstanding, China loses primacy in trade in the post COVID 19. Structural change in India- China trade in pre and post COVID decodes the waning of significance of China. Eventually, during 2020-21, import declined from China and export increased. Nevertheless, even though export increased it does not denote spiral of growth in the future.
