K Raveendran - 2020-12-26 09:40
There is no crystal ball to gaze and forecast what is in store for the rest of the century. But 2020 will be marked in history as a real turning point and one of the worst in memory for all contemporaries. We had approached 2020 with a lot of hopes, although the stock market exuberance had camouflaged the underlying stress in the financial sector, agrarian crisis, rising unemployment and above all a complete drying up of demand in the economy.

SPEED MERCHANTS: A RARE SPORTS BOOK IN RECENT TIMES

Harpal Singh Bedi - 2020-12-24 16:10
It is always a tough job to review a book written by friend(s). It is more difficult to critically look at a sports book in India. The reason being that most of the sports books have been and are being penned by sports journalists and mostly the reviewers also belong to that small tribe. Any lavish praise of the book is dismissed as “back scratching of fellow journalist” and criticism is taken as frustrated comments by a scribe who has yet to come to terms with the success of the writer(s). With market being flooded with books on Individual cricketers / coaches it is becoming increasingly arduous to be impartial reviewer.

Only a handful have been given to heads of State, or, government leaders and those too have been close military allies of the United States.

SPYMASTERS TALES DOMINATE GOOD READS OF YEAR 2020

FOREIGN MINISTER JAYSHANKAR EXPLAINS THE INDIA WAY IN HIS NEW BOOK
Papri Sri Raman - 2020-12-24 10:40
Year 2020 has been a bad year for the publishing industry. Retail buying has gone down to near zero. For six months, from March to September, online sales of books too could be counted on the fingertips. It is books that have been on the anvil since 2018 that have been really forged and have been made available in the public domain by major publishers in India after August.
