Within two weeks of taking over the rule for the second term, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi predicted Indian economy to be five trillion dollars worth in six years meaning in 2025 ad though he did not elaborate grounds for his belief. A steady growth rate of 14 per cent a year alone can deliver the miracle but even his finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman was not sharing his enthusiasm. Her first insipid budget was mere exercise to balance incomes and expenditure. The stock market indices steeply went down in five hours reflecting disappointment in business world. Drastic change in the corporate tax structure within four weeks could not restore confidence not could pull the business and industrial world out of its dejection.
