EASE OF DOING BUSINESS RANK OF INDIA IS DECEPTIVE

TWO MOST BADLY PERFORMING AREAS ARE EXCLUDED
Gyan Pathak - 2019-10-25 11:22
India’s moving up 14 places to be ranked 63rd among 190 nations in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2020 report, fails to give a clear picture of the situation prevailing in the country, since the two most important areas among 12 are not included in this report. They are employing workers and contracting with the government indicator sets. Moreover the report is primarily based on assessment of the situations mainly in Delhi and Mumbai (weight given 53 and 47 per cent respectively), ignoring the situation in the rest of the country.

KAMAL NATH GETS A BIG BOOST AFTER JHABUA BY-POLL WIN

BJP’S HOPE OF TOPPLING CONGRESS MINSTRY SHATTERED
L.S. Herdenia - 2019-10-25 10:35
BHOPAL: Result of Jhabua by-election has not only given stability to the Kamal Nath government but has also boosted the morale of the Congress. Almost all the newspapers have commented that it was the biggest Congress victory in the history of the state. The winning leader is Kanti Lal Bhuria, who happens to be veteran tribal leader. For the last forty years he was in active politics. During this period he served in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister and also as member of state ministry headed by Digvijaya Singh. Unfortunately he lost the Lok Sabha election of 2019 and his son Dr. Vikrant Bhuria lost the assembly elections held in 2018.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The result of the five assembly by-elections represents a spectacular victory for the secular ethos of Kerala’s polity. Politics of communalism and casteism has no place in the State, which has set an example which other States will do well to emulate.

BJP’S ‘CONGRESS-MUKT BHARAT’ PROGRAMME GETS A JOLT

PARIVAR HAS TO RETHINK ABOUT MODI’S POLICIES
Arun Srivastava - 2019-10-25 10:31
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be appreciated for putting a brave face and refusing to concede the fact that the BJP has suffered electoral defeat in the states of Maharashtra and Haryana. This stance of Modi has wider implication. Acceptance of defeat would not have changed the ground reality. Instead his denial and eulogising state leaders would prevent the party from having adverse moral impact on the rank and file and demoralising them.

MODI’S CHARISMA RECEIVED BATTERING IN TWO STATES

BJP HAS REASONS TO GET WORRIED FOR FUTURE
Arun Srivastava - 2019-10-24 09:24
It would appear to be an outrageous argument that Narendra Modi has lost the battle of Maharashtra and Haryana. But it is the fact which even BJP’s leaders and also its ardent supporters would find tough to refute. Usually a prime minister does not devote too much of energy and time in stray electioneering. But the case of Modi has been quite different. He addressed more than a dozen of public rallies in Maharashtra and around 10 rallies in Haryana.

OPPOSITION HAS TO TAKE CORRECT LESSONS FROM POLL REVERSES

GRASSROOTS STATE LEADERS HAVE TO REPLACE THE POWERFUL DYNASTS
Mriganka M Bhowmick - 2019-10-24 09:22
The outcomes of Maharashtra and Haryana Elections are giving a silver line of hope for Congress and its opposition allies. The much circulated picture of rain drenched Sharad Pawar addressing rally came out as the notion of a combative opposition, trying to save its last ground. As a matter of fact the fight from Central leadership of Congress was completely missing. If there is any silver lining on opposition performance, the credit must go to the ground workers and few state leaders in Haryana and Maharashtra. Emergence of a combative state leadership will be the only hope for Congress for its future. Evidently, The Central leadership imposed Dynastic Politics with Entitlement does not yield any dividend in the ground.
