CENTRE HAS TO CONSIDER THE CONCERNS OF THE NORTH-EAST

IMMEDIATE ACTION IS NEEDED TO DEFUSE THE CRISIS
Sagarneel Sinha - 2019-12-16 09:58
Any region that has been protesting from the very beginning against the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019, which is now an act, is the north-east region — mainly Assam, Tripura and Shillong in Meghalaya. In Assam, the situation is still tensed as the suspension of internet services in 10 districts of the Brahmaputra valley continues. Unlike the criticisms of the secular liberals and Leftists intellectuals and the late organised protests of West Bengal or Delhi against the new act by giving it a “communal” spin, the protests of the north-east are aimed to save their own indigenous culture, literature and language.
