But the kid, driven by socio-cultural and peer pressures, contemptuously rejects whatever the father has brought and demands more. The upset mother goes and consoles the unruly son and pleads for some understanding even while urging her husband not to get angry.

RE-UNIFICATION OF COMMUNIST MOVEMENT IS NEED OF THE HOUR

LEFT AND SECULAR FORCES HAVE TO CARRY ON THE FIGHT
S Sudhakar Reddy - 2019-05-31 09:33
The meeting of the National Executive of the Communist Party of India which discussed in detail the results of General Election 2019 and the party’s performance came to the conclusion that the Left defeat in the election is a very big setback and has resulted in an unprecedented challenge to our party. Our party could get representation only from Tamil Nadu in understanding with the DMK under the leadership of M K Stalin. CPI (M) also had to its credit an equal number of two seats from Tamil Nadu and one seat from Kerala. The entire Left is reduced to five seats in the new Parliament, which is the lowest ever representation of the Left after independence.

At last, he speaks! After more than two years of silently working away on his investigation into Russian campaign interference, and six weeks after his final report showcased the detailed effort to tilt the 2016 election in Donald Trump’s favor, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has once more stated what we’ve already heard: There was a crime committed, his investigation was obstructed, and Congress is the only institution that can pursue the president.

CONGRESS IS WITHDRAWING INTO A SHELL

RAHUL CRISIS SHOULD NOT STOP FUNCTIONING OF PARTY
Sushil Kutty - 2019-05-30 12:13
Going incommunicado never helped anybody. Especially in politics. Then, it leads to speculation in the media and left to speculate, media can go every which way. The Congress is making the mistake. Winning and losing elections are par for course and this time for any number of reasons, it was quite apparent to even the most causal of observer that Modi would most likely win; more so, after every exit poll predicted an emphatic Modi victory.

A TOTAL OPPOSITION UNITY COULD HAVE CHANGED U.P RESULTS

EVM IRREGULARITIES HAVE ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO BJP WIN
B. Sivaraman - 2019-05-29 11:23
When asked Kya jaadu kiya bhai Baajpaa waalon ne?(What magic did BJP people do for such a grand victory?), a small farmer who confessed to voting for Modi, replied: In logon ke paas Modi-ji bhi hai, EVM bhi hai, kissi ne kitna jaadu kiya aap hi tai karlijiye!(These people have both Modi as well as EVMs. You work out who did what magic!) Such a matter of fact reply carried a deeper message that the massive BJP victory in UP was partly due to the Modi wave and that a section of the voters are not free from the doubt that there were irregularities in the polling process centering on EVMs.

A QUICK-FIX FOR ALL CONGRESS WOES

CRAB MENTALITY ALLOWS ONLY A DYNASTIC LEADER
K Raveendran - 2019-05-29 11:20
The Congress drama of resignations after every poll debacle has become repulsively repetitive. The party needs a new script for the drama to have takers in future.

WHAT WENT WRONG IN ASSESSING ELECTION RESULTS

Vijay Sanghvi - 2019-05-29 11:14
Most poll analysts and several media viewers including me were off the mark in their analysis of the election 2019 results precisely due to their dependence on traditional understanding of popular responses. They may have been aware of rapid social transformation of Indian mind but did not take its impact in account as most political strategists had ignored it in evolving their electoral strategies. The transformation of even rural society was reflected in their acceptance of norm of small family sending their children to schools. In other words their development concepts had undergone radical change with realization that charity cannot end their poverty nor can it elevate their social existence.
