The events in Washington in the last forty eight hours have given a fresh twist to the dimension of the anti-Constitutional actions of the beleaguered US President Donald Trump indicating that the appointment of the former FBI Director Robert Mueller as the special counsel to the investigations into Trump’s collusion with the Russians, has left very little escape route to Trump to wriggle out of the ongoing scandals.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi enters his fourth year in office next week, he is confident that he will not only complete his present term but also come back after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The opposition still has two years to challenge Modi and his BJP. India considers Chinese OBOR (One Belt One Road) violates its sovereignty and territorial integrity by way of setting up China-Pakistan – Economic – Corridor (CPEC) – the flagship project of OBOR initiative. CPEC passes through Gilgit- Baltistan in Pakistan-occupied Indian territory in Kashmir. New Delhi refused to be bullied by the Chinese threat that India will be isolated while all its neighbours supported the OBOR. CPEC is one of the six projects of OBOR.

NEW DELHI: The Communist Party of India has called for the unity of secular, democratic, left forces of the country along with the civil society and prominent individuals to counter the offensive of the Modi Government and the Sangh Parivar. The National Executive of CPI at its two day meeting at Raigarh in Maharashtra also decided to take concrete steps for mobilization of the anti-BJP forces.

One question that is often asked in social circles is whether the BJP is anti-Muslim. But the fact is that BJP cannot and dare not to be anti-Muslim. Though some party leaders and the rank and file of Sangh parivar spew venom against Muslims and openly deride secular Hindus for supporting them, the fact remains that the RSS bosses and the BJP leadership are aware that their aspiration of a Congress-free India would prove to be a pipedream if they alienate the Muslim community.
