Russian President’s pending visit to India has turned into a big diplomatic mystery as in the last five months since the Kazan summit on October 22 last year when Putin officially confirmed his visit to India in the presence of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst full media and TV glare, the Russian side is only talking of the coming visit and the preparations made for it, but the Indian policy makers including external affairs minister Dr. S. A video shared by the Supreme Court on March 22, which allegedly shows burnt cash in a store room in the residence of Justice Yashwant Varma, a Delhi High Court Judge who has since been repatriated to Allahabad, has shocked the nation. But his most talked about and ambitious programme was the Make in India announced soon after his take over at the centre, followed by US$ 23 billion Productivity Linked Incentive(PLI) scheme, the flagship of MII programme in 2021. Modi declared that India would be turned into a production hub of the world with the share of manufacturing going up to 25 per cent of the country’s GDP in 2025 as a result of implementation of Make in India programme.

With the US’ Damocles sword of reciprocal tariffs hanging over its head, the Modi government is surrendering instead of resisting. The US President Donald Trump explicitly stated that India would be on the list of countries subject to reciprocal tariffs from April 2, irrespective of its good relationship with the US. The Modi government, instead of meeting this challenge, is ready to reduce tariffs on nearly 55 per cent of US goods and in the process sacrifice Indian interests.

BJP led governments, both in the Centre and Indian States, have been continuing ‘bulldozer actions’ which they claim as doing justice against those people who they make accused in the police FIRs.BJP governments thus become accuser and judge both, which is clearly extrajudicial activity violating the principle of justice itself, and hence are miscarriage of justice. They are even violating the recent Supreme Court directives against demolition of properties of people accused of rioting, arson, and other crimes, without going through any judicial process, and simply by executive orders, which are unconstitutional and illegal.
