COMPOSITE POLICY LACKING
Sankar Ray - 2011-10-29 11:07
KOLKATA: The coal-thermal power tiff is one of the nastiest dialectics in the arena of arena of energy. It’s a disputatious collaboration that cannot be explained by energetics. The ministry of power looks forward optimistically to the additional 15000 megawatt, expected to be synchronised by the end of the present fiscal although that will be no significant increment to the existing installed capacity of power utilities estimated at 176990 MW. The coal supply scenario continues to be dismal, rather too inadequate to meet the demand for electricity during 2010-11, there was a shortage of 70 million tonnes of coal and at the end of current fiscal the shortfall may be much higher.
