New Delhi: When the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is glorifying the deeds of Sardar Bhallavbhai Patel as a man responsible for unification of India, the Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram brought the country’s first Education Minister Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad to the fore for his role in opposing the partition of the country and as an apostle of Hindu-Muslim unity.

Even a primary level student knows that “brave biharis” did not defeat Alexander the great on the banks of the Ganga. He was turned back from Punjab.
