Satyaki Chakraborty - 21-09-2024 11:39 GMT-0000

The striking doctors joined their duties on September 21 in emergency services only in the state government run medical colleges and hospitals still keeping the OPD work and surgical operations out of their duty profile. The outcome of the protracted negotiations on the five point agenda submitted by the Junior Doctors Front, to the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have mostly been positive but the doctors body has indicated full joining only after the directives by the state health department are implemented on ground. It is apparent that the agitating doctors are waiting for the next hearing in the Supreme Court on the RG Kar medico’s rape murder issue scheduled on September 27.

The interim Government of Bangladesh headed by Dr. Muhammad Yunus is doing all the preparatory work for officially demanding the extradition from India of the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as early as possible. Indications suggest that Dr. Yunus may mention of this demand at his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 27. Dr. Yunus will be in USA from September 24 to 27 while the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in USA from September 21 to 23. So there is no possibility of any bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Dr. Yunus in New York this time.

Sushil Kutty - 20-09-2024 12:30 GMT-0000
Former YSRCP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy left a 'ladoo' for TDP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and now there's 'big bawal' in Andhra Pradesh with epicentre at the temple town of Tirupati, where Lord Venkateswara has been cynosure for forever. The 'ladoo' is prasadam, offerings to God, which is where the problem starts and ends for Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is fighting charges of desecrating the prasadam with beef tallow, fish oil and lard.

TIME TO FIGHT MYTHS AND OBSCURANTIST IDEAS ABOUT TREATMENT THROUGH MEDICAL EDUCATION

Dr Arun Mitra - 20-09-2024 11:57 GMT-0000
Unaware of the reasons of various happenings around, the ancient man attributed celestial causes to various natural events like rain, fire, earthquake etc. Thus they thought diseases to be a result of anger displayed by some super natural divine power. The remedy too was primitive and based on obeisance to please that power. BJP MEMBERS WERE EQUALLY MUTED WHILE OBSERVING HIS 74TH BIRTHDAY
Sushil Kutty - 18-09-2024 11:52 GMT-0000
The NDA government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed its first 100 days on September 17 with Modi as third term Prime Minister. How did he fare was the topic of the day, which was also his birthday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 74 on Tuesday and the celebrations were rather muted. The “half-victory” in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections remains smug in the mind to rankle and give pause.
