SUPREME COURT ORDER GRANTING BAIL TO DR. SHOMA SEN IS AN EXPOSURE OF NIA

AFTER LONG SIX YEARS, THE CENTRAL AGENCY COULD NOT PROVE THEIR ACCUSATIONS
Satyaki Chakraborty - 2024-04-09 12:07
The Supreme Court’s order on April 5 granting bail to former Nagpur University professor Dr. Shoma Sen in the Bhima Koregaon case is a blatant exposure of how the National Investigation Agency of the centre keeps people undertrial for years even after failing to produce any worthwhile documents which will vindicate the accusations in the Court.

STAR-CROSSED MAHARASHTRA POLL ALLIANCES SET FOR EPIC BATTLE

MAHA VIKAS AGHADI AND MAHAYUTI BESET WITH MULTIPLE PROBLEMS
Sushil Kutty - 2024-04-09 12:04
The allegation is the Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies "cheated their way" to power and then left Maharashtra in shambles. How much did the subterfuge to bring down the Maha Vikas Aghadi cost Maharashtra is another question. The Congress is asking this though the question can be redirected to Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray who started the cheating rigmarole by scrapping the alliance with the BJP and joining the Congress and the then unified NCP led by Sharad Pawar to form government.

INDIA’S INEQUALITY ALL TIME HIGH

M.Y. Siddiqui - 2024-04-09 04:57
India’s data for a century has revealed income and wealth inequality now worse than during British colonial rule, according to the World Inequality Lab. Using billionaire raj for the present times, research has found that inequality declined post-independence till the 1980s, rose afterwards and is skyrocketing now. RSS Pariwar union government has been adept at refuting any global assessments pointing to economic facts like hunger and malnutrition, while not having made data available since 2014 at regular intervals, as was the case earlier. India’s GDP data itself is highly contested.

CORRUPTION SEEMS TO BE A NON-ISSUE BEFORE THE PUBLIC IN COMING LOK SABHA POLLS

MOST INDIAN POLITICAL PARTIES ARE PERCEIVED AS CORRUPT BY THE VOTERS
Nantoo Banerjee - 2024-04-08 11:25
Who is afraid of corruption? Certainly not India’s political parties battling against each other in the current Lok Sabha election campaign. Nor are the general public, who have been, more nilly than willy, part of the country’s vicious system of corruption for years. Raids at premises and arrests of select opposition state leaders on corruption charges by central investigative agencies such as CBI, ED, and income-tax department are unlikely to change the general public perception that all political parties are corrupt. They think the pre-election arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has more to do with the intention of preventing the popular politician from taking part in the election campaign than anything else. Generally, corruption per se is a non-issue before contesting political parties and most of the electorates. Corruption charges against state opposition leaders are often dropped after they join the Bharatiya Janata Party, the key political entity in the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre, leading the pre-poll anti-corruption drive.

Can Women voters decide the upcoming 2024 General elections? Political parties are trying to attract women voters, a critical segment. To do this, they are offering various benefits.
