New Delhi: The 2nd India Africa Hydrocarbons Conference got off to a business-like start here today with India's Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister, Mr. Murli Deora, declaring the intent of Indian companies to source LNG as well as equity participation in existing and upcoming LNG terminals in Africa.

India is interspersed with water bodies, such as rivers, lakes and ponds. A body of water is considered a lake when it is inland, not part of the ocean large and deeper than a pond. Natural lakes on the earth are generally found in mountainous areas, rift zones and areas with ongoing or recent glaciations. Other lakes are found in endorheic basins or along the course of rivers. As far as these lakes are concerned they are both natural and man made.

Punjab's downslide continues unabated with the situation becoming abysmal. Already facing an unprecedented financial crisis, the state is now haunted by communal and migrants-locals tensions. New York: On the eve of the historic United Nations climate change gathering in Copenhagen, Denmark, a top official with the world body (UN) expressed confidence that the event will deliver a comprehensive and ambitious new deal. However, concerns remain over the contentious Danish proposal that sets 2025 as deadline for all nations to cap their emission.

New Delhi: The day-long State Information Ministers Conference (SIMCON) ended here on Saturday with aconsensus among states on the need for having an independent, autonomous and credible regulator for broadcast issues. However, some stakeholders felt that a regulator imposed by the Government may not be the ideal solution as it could prove to be a double-edged weapon.

Russia and the United States agreed with each other to maintain the provisions of a major cold war era nuclear arms control treaty, ahead of its expiry today. Both the countries also declared their intentions in this regard.

New Delhi: K V Prasad was elected to the post of the President of Press Association, the body of journalists accredited to the Press Information Bureau, Government of India, while Rajeev Ranjan Nag was re-elected as General Secretary in the election held today at the Press Club of India.
