PROBLEM OF UNWELCOME INFILTRATION
2021-01-19 16:11 -Indian borders on all sides were porous since independence but infiltration on the Eastern and the western borders became critical. The uninvited immigrants were viewed differently. India never bothered over influx from Nepal. No attempt was made to control outgo of Tamils but the Indian Authority was worried over the influx from two wings of Pakistan. Poor poured in from East wing through porous borders in search of work. Infiltrators from West bribed border guards. The characters of infiltrators from West and East Pakistan were different. Pakistan citizens from the West wing came with regular channels but overstayed to earn their bread as most found living conditions in India far better than their native land or preferred one. Infiltration in Kashmir was mostly of residents from the Pakistan occupied territory or meeting their relations but were gripped with urge to stay on.
