Anne of Brittany

Anne of Brittany (1477-1514) was the daughter of Francis II, Duke of Brittany. She became Duchess of Brittany in 1488 at the age of 11 after death of her father. The next year, she married Maximilian I of Austria by proxy, but eventually first married Charles VIII in 1491 and then after his death in 1498 when Louis XII became king of France, she had to marry him in 1499. By her marriage, the duchy was added to the crown of France.
