Arbela

Arbela, modern name Erbil, also sometimes written as Arbil or Irbil, is an ancient town near Mosul, now in Iraq, in Kurdistan region, where Alexander the Great finally defeated Darius in 331 BC. It is located 80 kilometres (50 miles) east of Mosul.
