Aymaras

Aymaras were a South American Indian people, the chief native race of Peru and Bolivia, from which it would appear sprang the Quinchuas, the dominant people of Peru at the time of the Spanish conquest. They attained a high degree of civilisation, and inhabited the high plateau region of Bolivia and Peru near Lake Titicaca.
