Baijnath is in Uttarakhand state of India. It is situated at about a distance of 19 kms from Kausani towards Bageshwar. It is located at the height of about 1125 metres above sea level. It lies in Garud Valley which was once the capital of the glorious Katyuri dynasty. Gomti river flows beside this place in a flat valley. The historic temple complex of Baijnath was constructed by the Katyuri kings in 13th century AD. This temple complex also houses temples of Shiva, Ganesh, Parvati, Chandika, Kuber, Surya, and Brahma.
