Barbet
Barbet is a bird found all over the world, especially in the tropics. This brightly coloured, large-headed, fruit-eating bird has a stout bill with tufts of bristles at the base (ie barbe in Fench which literally means beard). Numerous genera and species of this bird are found. It belongs to the family Capitonidae. This term also denoted a poodle (a dog of a breed) until early 19th century.
