UDDHAV HAS A TOUGH TASK TO KEEP MVA IN POWER AFTER DESHMUKH’S RESIGNATION

SHARAD PAWAR HAS TO ENSURE THAT BJP GAMEPLAN DOES NOT SUCCEED
Sushil Kutty - 2021-04-06 13:53
The Bombay High Court is right. There cannot be an independent probe if the Maharashtra Police or the Mumbai Police were to investigate the charge against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Hidden in that observation was the hint to Deshmukh to resign. Now, the CBI will conduct a ‘preliminary inquiry’ and Deshmukh, taking the hint, has resigned.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Who will win the Final - the mother of all battles for the Kerala Assembly? That is the question uppermost in the minds of Keralites as the State went to the polls on Tuesday amid a big surge in covid cases. The fear is real as all the parties have thrown caution to winds, and failed to adhere to the covid protocol.

ONGOING STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS ARE TURNING OUT TOUGH FOR ALL PARTIES

MANY UNPREDICTABLE FACTORS MAY INFLUENCE OUTCOME ON MAY 2
Kalyani Shankar - 2021-04-06 13:16
Is there an x-factor that could play in the on-going five states assembly polls? X factors are always unexpected and might play sometimes positive and other times a negative role in polls. In a few weeks’ time, we will know which way it has played in the Assembly polls to Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu Kerala, and Puducherry where the incumbent chief ministers are defending their five- year rule. As has been in the past, the x-factor could knock them out or retain them.

LEFT VOTERS IN BENGAL HAVE TO TAKE DECISIVE STEP TO DEFEAT BJP

IT WILL BE WRONG TO PUT SAFFRONS AND TRINAMOOL ON SAME FOOTING
Satyaki Chakraborty - 2021-04-06 13:13
Following three phases of polling in Bengal for the state assembly, I got a number of messages from my friends in Kolkata and others of Bengal expressing their dilemma as a supporter of the Left in choosing candidates in the ensuing poll. The problem is the concerned candidate of the Left including the CPI(M) is so hopelessly positioned, that the voting for him means wasting the vote. My friends are very much against the BJP, but at the same time, they are angry with Trinamool Congress for many of its activities including corruption of the TMC members and their highhandedness in dealing with the other opposition parties, especially the Left and the Congress.

ACQUITTAL IN ISHRAT JAHAN ENCOUNTER HAS CAUSED DEEP CONCERN

JUDGE RAWAL’S REASONING MAY SET A DANGEROUS PRECEDENT
Parsa Venkateshwar Rao Jr - 2021-04-05 13:22
Special CBI court judge VR Rawal, while acquitting three Gujarat police officers—Inspector General of Police GL Singhal, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Tarun Bharot, and assistant Sub-Inspector Anaju Chaudhari—has offered a line of reasoning that seems to make partial, but not total, legal sense, and therefore raises troubling legal questions.

ECONOMIC SELF RELIANCE HAS BEEN JETTISONED TO PLEASE THE CORPORATES

PRIVATISATION OF PUBLIC SECTOR UNITS IS A DANGEROUS GAMBLE BY MODI REGIME
Chada Venkata Reddy - 2021-04-05 13:18
Our country is sovereign democratic republic. People alone are rulers. People elect governments. Based on the norms of Constitution, government should be restrained by the basic constitutional principles and thus implement laws. But it has become common for ruling government to take unilateral decisions. With individual trends, adopting dictatorial methods, crushing aspirations of people and above all acting against self reliance of the nation, Central government is attacking the fundamental rights of people and violating the Constitution.

MORE EVIDENCE OF UDF-BJP DEAL IN KERALA POLL TUMBLING OUT

TOP SAFFRON LEADERS THEMSELVES SPILL THE BEANS!
P. Sreekumaran - 2021-04-05 13:14
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Clear evidence of the tacit deal between the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and the BJP in Kerala has surfaced to the acute embarrassment of both the parties. What is even more surprising is that a few top BJP leaders themselves have spilled the beans.
