The release of a book on November 29 in New Delhi brought the focus back on the INDI-Alliance, which was seen to be losing its direction and purpose in recent weeks much to the chagrin of those who wanted to see the back of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government come 2024. The book ‘Mallikarjun Kharge: Political Engagement With Compassion, Justice and Inclusive Development’ marked Kharge’s 50 years in electoral politics. The Bengal unit of BJP is in dire straits now as the leadership has no face to face its supporters after the big flop of the party rally addressed by the Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday afternoon. The 17-day long trauma of the 41 mostly migrant workers trapped inside a collapsed road tunnel in Silkyara, Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand state, is finally over. It has taken days of efforts by multiple agencies, public and private companies, foreign experts, engineers from the army, other workers, a battery of large and complex machines flown in by the air force from different parts of the country, and many ad hoc decisions and different methods of clearing the over 60 metres of debris blocking the tunnel, to finally effect the rescue.
