Ansuya, wife of Atri

Ansuya, according to Indian mythology, was daughter of Daksh Prajapati.

She was married to the sage Atri.

She bore him three sons - Dattatreya, Som and Durvasa.

According to Ramayan, Ram along with Sita and Lakshman went in their hermitage during their exile into the forest.

Ansuya felt extremely pleased at heart due to the good and modest nature of Sita. She blessed Sita and gifted her with heavenly robes and ornaments, that remained ever new, clean and charming. She also given her instructions about the duties of a wife.

Ansuya, the friend of Shakuntala

According to Indian mythology, one Ansuya was a friend of Shakuntala.

She is mentioned in the Abhigyan Shakuntalam of Kalidas.
