Beardtongue
Beardtongue is a plant bearing showy five-lobed flowers with each blossom having a tuft of hair on one of its stamens. It is a North American plant of the figwort family. It belongs to the genus Penstemon, and the family Scrophulariaceae. Several species of beardtongue are found which include the widespread 'foxglove beartongue' (Penstemon digitalis) and the 'hairy beardtongue' (Penstemon hirsutus).
